The Project Development Office of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem works with parishes to overcome the many practical challenges faced by Christian communities living in the Holy Land; maintenance and repair of churches, schools and community buildings, schooling of children and students and more recently the need to help feed, clothe and house large numbers of Christian refugees fleeing conflicts in Iraq and Syria. Working through the Parish Priest, the LPJ Project Development Office identifies, defines and costs individual development projects which are presented to a growing network of international supporters and NGOs for support. Once funding is agreed the PDO staff ensure funds are spent correctly and provide a full report to donors and their supporters.
Through this work the LPJ Project Development Office play a critical, coordinating role through which the global Christian community is able to better understand the challenges faced by Christians in the Middle East and more importantly how relatively modest funds can be used to make a fundamental difference to their lives.
Since its inception Pilgrimage People has committed surplus funds to support development projects in the Holy Land, substantially through the Latin Patriarch. As the primary beneficiary of our funds the PDO is able to direct resources where they are needed most.
